Central Deborah Gold Mine produced one ton of gold (929 kg) when it was operational from 1939-1954. During the gold rush era, 357 male miners worked on 17 levels and 15 kilometres of drives and tunnels that reached up to 412 metres underground. The Underground Adventure tour on Level 3 was implemented in 1998. It was followed by the Nine Levels of Darkness tour in 2011 where visitors get to experience 228 metres underground on Level 9. The tour guides are knowledgeable having worked in the mines, or they are relatives of the original miners.

There’s quite a number of mines (coal, gold, etc.) in Australia that offer tours in different states. Thanks for stopping by this blog.
