The Ashcombe Maze & Lavender Gardens consists of ten display gardens that brings in a new individual theme each season. It carries the distinction of having the oldest and most famous traditional hedge maze in Australia where one can search for four mosaic flags located in the two sections. It features the world’s oldest circular rose maze where one attempts to locate the centre and find their way out of the surrounding 1,200 bushes and over 200 varieties of roses,  The Lavender labyrinth is known for more than 4,000 plants blooming year round. The Great Ashcombe Gnome Hunt is an activity designed for participants to look for Ascombe Maze’s garden gnome, Mazey Mike, and his fairy friends that are scattered throughout the gardens.

  1. Wow! I am impressed… I have heard about gardens in Portland and it will take us time to locate them. Portland is known for Rose gardens and we have seen many beautiful roses while driving through some neighborhoods.
