The Australian International Air Show theme this year is Heroes of the Sky. It was held from the 24th of February to the 1st of March. It is the first major celebration to mark the centenary of Gallipoli landings (ANZAC). Aircraft that dates back to World War I & II up to the present soared to the skies alongside more modern ones. Paul Bennet, Australia’s aerobatic champion, showcased his masterful maneuvers on air aboard a rare Titts Wolf aircraft. The ‘Immortals’ plane trio, well known in US air shows, conducted aerial stunts replete with fire and smoke. Other countries that participated in the show are Japan, France, Singapore, and New Zealand.

Exciting photos of the planes and their acrobatics.

Glad you liked it. It was quite a sight to see the planes up close, although tricky to shoot because they’re a roving ‘target’.

Amazing photos! My entire family loves going to airshows – my husband is an aircraft mechanic (military) and even though he’s around such on a daily basis, he still loves going to shows as much as we do!
