Rippon Lea House & Gardens is a heritage listed property with the National Trust of Australia that is situated in Elsternwick, Victoria, Australia. The house was built in 1868 for Sir Frederick Sargood and his family. Its last owner, Louisa Jones, emulated the Hollywood style of the 1930’s by expanding it to include a grand ballroom and an adjoining swimming pool. The 14 acre garden utilises an innovative, self-sufficient water system created by Sir Frederick Sargood. Some notable garden features are the lookout tower, fernery, lake, waterfall, windmill and an orchard. The estate runs exhibitions throughout the year.
